The Business Analyst is responsible for the support and maintenance of all Summit SD business systems, applications, and data to ensure they are working correctly and consistently and serve as the primary support for end users. This role requires extensive familiarity with IT processes and procedures to ensure organizational-wide support. In this role, he/she may have access to sensitive company data. The Business Analyst will work directly with the Director of Operations and report to the Business Intelligence Manager.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as lead administrator in the following essential systems and applications:
- Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
- TrueCommerce Transaction Manager
- TraceLink
- EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)
- Power BI
- BarTender Label Software
- Shopify
- Dynamic Ship
- MDH Insights
- Within these essential applications, he/she will be responsible for:
- Creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts in essential applications as needed.
- Maintaining data integrity through use and implementation of best practices
- Onboarding of new customers and troubleshooting of existing customers
- Managing permissions and access controls to ensure proper data security and integrity.
- Creating policies and work instructions for end users.
- Serve as primary support and point of contact for integrations, implementations, and ongoing management of business systems and applications.
- Manage the testing, validation and deployment of updates to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Responsible for resolving and managing DSCSA exceptions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
- Work to ensure business systems are functioning properly and remedy critical problems in real-time, escalating issues as necessary to ensure minimal downtime.
- Develop and maintain an effective strategy to serve the organization’s system needs. (ERP, EDI, EPCIS/DSCSA, etc.)
- Serve as the organization’s super user of essential applications, including:
- Training employees in essential systems and applications upon onboarding, and/or after implementation of new systems or functionality within applications already utilized
- Provide guidance and consultation on applications and related services to other departments, which may include reviewing system documentation, feasibility, design, testing, and implementation.
- Support and partake in other projects as it relates to the organization’s systems, applications & data.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2 years of experience required as an IT Project Manager, Applications Specialist, Business Analyst or relevant experience, preferred.
- Distribution experience, preferred.
- Candidates with experience with one or more of the following are preferred:
- Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central Preferred)
- EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)
- Power BI
- TrueCommerce Transaction Manager
- SQL
- Power Query
- ERP Systems
- BarTender Label Software
- Strong understanding of Database structure and relationships
- Possess or acquire within the following time frames:
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Fundamentals (ERP) certification within 90 days of employment.
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate certification within 180 days of employment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization.
