The Position: 910 Media Group is searching for a visionary Director of Subscriber Acquisition Marketing to lead our efforts in subscriber acquisition. The primary focus is on driving subscription growth across all our platforms (digital, print, broadcast). Key areas of subscription growth include driving new audiences to our products, bringing them back on platform for continued engagement or re-activation, converting them to subscribers, and preventing subscriber churn.
Your work will span off-platform (e.g., email), on-platform messaging and conversion touchpoints, and on-platform engagement features. The job is to improve the overall user experience, with the goal of helping users move down the subscription funnel, with influence across the product experience. This role is crucial in expanding our reach, deepening connections with our audience, and fostering a vibrant community around our journalism.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive subscriber growth strategies to maximize lifetime value, increase subscriber revenue and volume for local platforms and add-on products (existing and to be developed). Manage acquisition forecasts and achieve set budgets for registrations, starts, terminations, and revenue
- Analyze zero, first, second, and third-party data and customer behavior to identify opportunities to expand audience targeting, personalize messaging, and create dynamic experiences for acquisition prospects
- Create growth strategies for new add-on products, identifying audiences and new audiences for these products, compelling value propositions to generate conversions from each audience
- Collaborate with analytics to develop and maintain dashboards tracking key performance indicators and campaign outcomes, analyzing campaign effectiveness, demonstrating ROI, sharing key learnings, and making growth recommendations
- Continuously seek and overcome challenges, driving the program to exceed targets and proactively identifying to work around roadblocks
- Continuously test and learn, creating testing roadmaps and plans for each product, aligned to business goals, to continually innovate and find new areas of growth
Qualifications:
- 4 years’ experience in growth/subscriber marketing with a preference for experience in promoting products within a recurring or subscription business model.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful subscription growth/monetization strategies.
- Strong analytical skills and quantitative capabilities, utilizing data-driven decision-making to optimize marketing efforts, achieve subscription targets, and challenge assumptions through research and performance metrics.
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration, aligning marketing strategies with broader business objectives, and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Exhibit flexibility, adaptability, and strategic focus in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with the ability to pivot strategies in response to changing conditions
