What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Aide position at Heritage Christian School?
Diabetic Student Aide
Starting Pay: $12 per hour
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am to 3:15pm on school days (no summer or holiday breaks)
Responsibilities:
- Accompany student in classes, lunch, and other school activities to assist with monitoring blood sugar and symptoms.
- Program food information into computer device
- Check for blood sugar and ketones as needed manually
- Adjust student activities as needed per the diabetic recommendations
- Communicate with the school nurse, office staff and parent
- Assist in other departments if the student is absent
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED
- Able to read and understand diabetic information and systems after training
- Able to sit/stand/walk the majority of the shift
- Able to climb stairs
- Work independently without direct supervision
- Abide by Heritage Christian School Statement of Faith and Philosophy
- Able to pass Ohio Revised Code required background check and drug/alcohol testing
