Job Summary
The Scheduler is responsible for coordinating staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for the effective operation of the community. This role involves creating and managing schedules, responding to staffing needs, and performing various clerical and administrative tasks. The Scheduler serves as a central point of contact for staff regarding scheduling matters and ensures that the community operates smoothly and efficiently.
Expectations
- Maintain a record of regular and predictable attendance.
- Create monthly schedules for all nursing employees, ensuring sufficient coverage to meet resident needs.
- Make real-time scheduling adjustments as needed due to resident needs, staff availability, or unforeseen circumstances.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all staff scheduling inquiries and concerns.
- Collaborate with other departments or communities to establish schedules that optimize staff allocation and coverage.
- Respond to phone calls and emails related to scheduling or administrative tasks.
- Welcome and direct staff, visitors, and residents as needed.
- Maintain employee schedules in Kronos, including documenting call-offs, vacation, sick leave, and other time-off requests.
- Provide staff with clear and complete information regarding their assignments and schedule changes.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- Minimum associate’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of administrative experience in an office environment, preferably in healthcare.
- Prior experience in scheduling, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Certifications/Licenses:
- None required.
