Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and organized Activity Director to lead our activities department in providing engaging, person-centered experiences for our residents. This role is essential in fostering a stimulating and enriching environment that enhances the quality of life for all residents, while ensuring activities align with their abilities and interests.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, arrange, and oversee incoming and outgoing events to provide residents with diverse experiences. - Develop monthly and weekly activity calendars tailored to residents' abilities and preferences. - Conduct and update activity assessments quarterly to ensure programs meet residents' needs. - Oversee and guide activity staff, ensuring seamless execution of scheduled activities. - Interact with residents according to the activity calendar, encouraging participation and engagement. - Monitor and complete 1:1 activities with residents who require personalized engagement. - Ensure all residents have access to a variety of activities, supporting their participation to their best ability. - Work closely with nursing staff and other departments to provide a holistic approach to care. - Be adaptable and flexible, assisting where needed to enhance residents’ daily experiences. - Enforce and maintain the activity calendar while making adjustments as needed for resident-centered care.
Requirements:- A 2-4 year degree in a related field such as Recreation Therapy, Social Work, Gerontology, or similar, Or Two Years Experience as an Activity Director in a Nursing Home or Assisted Living. - Strong leadership skills with the ability to oversee the activities department effectively. - Excellent multi-tasking and organizational abilities. - A deep commitment to resident-focused, person-centered care. - Ability to collaborate with nursing staff** and all facility departments. - Creativity, enthusiasm, and passion for enriching residents’ lives.
