The Employee Health Nurse will act as Infection Control and RN Educator
This role implements and supports the organization's safety, health and education programs for employees. In collaboration with the clinical and administrative leadership team and key stakeholders, this position develops, implements and maintains systems within the organization to detect, monitor, prevent, measure, investigate, report and manage employee adverse events and provide education around these and other clinical needs of the organization.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications:
1. Current Idaho RN license.
2. Minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative or clinical nursing position that includes direct involvement with employee health, infection control, or clinical education initiatives.
3. Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
4. Demonstrable experience with employee health or clinical education administration.
5. Able to establish and maintain effective working relations and work collaboratively in a team environment.
6. EHR Experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required (Preferred Qualifications):
1. Five or more years experience in a combination of nursing operations, direct patient care, or employee health role.
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
3. Experience working with a wide variety of patient populations, including patients living in poverty and individuals of minority groups.
4. FQHC experience.
5. Athena EHR experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for all Infection Control monitoring, tracking and prevention
2. Collaborates with site leadership and compliance to ensure clinical support staff are following facility policy and procedures and redirecting or educating, as necessary
3. Ensure the core principles of infection control are being observed
4. Responsible for the implementation of employee health and wellness initiatives including communication, analysis, presentation, pre-employment and employment immunizations and screenings.
5. Coordinates and executes initiatives of clinical education for applicable staff
6. In collaboration, develops and implements control policies and standards
7. Collaborates and conducts medical clearance (within RN scope) for employee fit testing in compliance with OSHA and other applicable industry employee safety governance.
8. Collaborates with internal stakeholders on communications, education, process improvement and risk mitigation strategies.
9. Maintains organizational compliance with local, state, and federal regulation around environmental health and control oversight including but not limited to OSHA and HRSA documentation
10. Works with the key stakeholders including workforce development, nursing, medical and dental leadership to review and train ongoing safety/risk management, environment of care and infection control expectations.
11. Responsible for conducting periodic safety inspections and maintaining the organization in a state of continual readiness for emergencies. Includes collaboration with emergency code drills, emergency preparedness planning and coordination with internal and external communication.
12. Advocate for resources that can improve efficiency, patient and employee outcomes.
13. Support clinic preceptors.
14. Oversee and support student clinical experiences.
15. Support implementation of Heritage Health scribe model of care
16. Support standardizing practice amongst clinical sites and service lines
17. Continuous education for clinical support staff
18. BLS training and compliance oversight.
19. Ongoing evaluation of health and education outcomes.
20. Other duties as assigned.
