As the Division Director of Landscape Maintenance at Heritage Landcare, you will hold a critical role in leading our Midlands maintenance operations. You will report directly to the COO.
This role involves managing a team of supervisors, optimizing routing and scheduling processes through advanced software tools (Aspire), and ensuring high-quality service delivery. The supervisors manage weekly mowing, non-turf weed control, pruning, and other tasks associated with maintenance.
Your main objective will be to create a structured environment that allows teams to become adaptable in order to deliver safe, excellent, and efficient maintenance solutions while maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities:As the Division Director your duties will include but not be limited to the following:
Leadership & Team Management
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Lead, mentor, and manage maintenance supervisors to ensure optimal performance and team cohesion
- Set clear goals and expectations for supervisors and their teams, fostering accountability and professional development
Operational Oversight
- Oversee daily landscape maintenance operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with company standards
- Utilize Aspire and other software to streamline processes and minimize inefficiencies through:
- Scheduling and Routing
- Work tickets
- Client requests and issues
- Labor budgets
- Employee management
- Monitor job site performance through in-person inspections and provide solutions to address challenges proactively
- Meet with other divisions such as sales, fleet, and installation to ensure efficient cross functional operations
Client & Quality Focus
- Ensure client satisfaction by maintaining high standards for service delivery and prompt resolution of issues or requests
- Manage our site audit schedule to ensure quality and provide feedback to improve team performance
- Collaborate with the sales team and other departments to develop service plans that meet client needs
- Provide recommendations and guidance to clients on specialized maintenance best practices, plant health, and landscape enhancement opportunities
Strategic Planning & Reporting
- Analyze data and metrics from software tools to identify trends, improve efficiency, and support decision-making
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize routes, reduce costs, and improve resource allocation
- Prepare reports and present updates on operations to company leadership
Culture
- Promote a positive and collaborative work environment
- Communicate effectively with teams, leadership and clients for optimal results
- Offer regular feedback and performance evaluations for supervisors
- Develop training programs for new employees and ensure all employees receive the appropriate training and education
- Develop leadership skills in supervisors and team leaders
- High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant certifications or training in landscaping or horticulture are a plus
- Extensive experience in the landscaping industry, with a strong understanding of maintenance operations, such as pruning and turf management
- Proven experience in leading and managing a team, with excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong knowledge of specialized maintenance techniques, equipment, and materials specific to pruning, turf management, and other specialty tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and team members
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and other relevant tools
- There will be times during normal business hours and emergencies that require you to perform extenuating duties
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English, bilingual in Spanish is an advantage
- Demonstrates dependability and commitment to the required hours for job completion
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and a clean 3-Year driving record
- Work outside in various weather conditions that may be hot, cold, wet, or turbulent
- Work in environments with loud noise levels, requiring hearing protection
- Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies
- Must understand and abide by all OSHA regulations, including wearing PPE
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand, bend, and squat for extended periods
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:30am to 5:00pm NOTE: As a salaried employee, your work hours/days are structured on a completion-based schedule. This means that you are required to work until all assigned jobs for the day/week are completed, which could mean working weekend days in order to meet job completion requirements.
