Job Summary:
The Staffing Coordinator (LVN) plays a crucial role in ensuring optimal staffing levels within the healthcare facility. This position requires a combination of nursing skills, organizational abilities, and effective communication to efficiently manage staffing schedules, monitor compliance, and provide direct patient care when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:

Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain accurate staffing schedules that meet operational needs and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with department heads to ensure adequate staffing coverage for all shifts.
- Manage staff time off requests and coordinate replacements as needed.
- Monitor overtime hours and implement strategies to minimize unnecessary overtime.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant staffing regulations, including nurse-to-patient ratios and mandatory continuing education requirements.
- Track staff certifications and licenses to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and address any compliance issues.
- Fill-in Duties:
- Provide direct patient care when staffing shortages occur due to call-ins, absences, or increased patient volume.
- Collaborate with department managers to prioritize patient care needs and allocate resources accordingly.
- Assist with emergency staffing situations, such as code blues or disasters.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a valid license in good standing.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Experience in staffing coordination or direct nursing care
- Knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with performance management and evaluation processes
- LVN/RN License
- Minimum of 2 years Staff Development/Educator Experience
- 8 years in long term care / post-acute care
- 3 years teaching adult learners
- Licensed Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse (active and unrestricted)
- CPR - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association for Provider).
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
- Electronic Health Records
