Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads
- Communicate with customers and leads to identify and understand their product and service needs; identify and suggest products and services to meet those needs
- Educate customers about how products work and when to use them, along with services available based on their individual needs and veterinarian recommendations
- Provide customer feedback to veterinarians regarding herd health plans and health issues
- Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolve any issues that may arise
- Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, rebate programs, and enhancements that may be of interest
- Maintains detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems
- Provides periodic territory sales forecasts
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Team player, who works independently and handles conflicting priorities while maintaining consistent, quality performance standards
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills allowing you to work directly with veterinarians and the customers they serve
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills
- Entrepreneurial spirit to work with veterinarians to develop new services according to evolving customer needs
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Flexibility to work with customers inside and outside the traditional 8:00-5:00 M-F work week
- Travel to customer sites required
- Knowledge and execution of farm biosecurity practices is necessary to ensure the health and safety of customer livestock.
- At least three years of sales experience required
- Background in livestock industry preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or related field beneficial but not required
