Job Description – Grant Writer Contracted
Position: Grant Writer
Salary: Contract 5-10 hours a week, $1250/monthly
Schedule: As required
Reports to: Diane Siefkes, Development and Communications Director
Scope of Position:
The Grant Writer will identify, define and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities as well as lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies.

· Willingness to participate in staff meetings and share ideas and suggestions to improve the organization as a whole.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Grant Management
· Preparation of proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies.
· Professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing and responding to public and private grant opportunities in areas that support the Hermitage No Kill Cat Shelter & Sanctuary.
Qualifications
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of relevant funding sources.
- Ability to tailor proposals to specific grant guidelines.
- Proven track record of successful grant applications in animal welfare.
- Understanding of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
- An outgoing and upbeat attitude.
- Must love cats and have an excellent understanding of cat behavior.
