Job Description:
We are looking for a proactive and tech-savvy Junior Development Manager to assist in the execution of development projects from concept to completion. This full-time, in-office role based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, offers the opportunity to collaborate with a skilled team and contribute to impactful projects. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of relevant experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to learn and advance quickly within Hernandez Development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Support:
- Assist in managing due diligence and feasibility tasks for new projects in collaboration with third-party consultants and senior team members.
- Support the project team with permitting, zoning, and engineering-related activities.
- Attend weekly meetings with designers, contractors, and stakeholders, maintaining detailed notes on critical items.
- Collaborate with the team to address challenges and ensure project milestones are met.
Budgeting and Reporting:
- Help maintain project budgets and schedules under the guidance of the Development Manager.
- Develop reports and updates for senior management to support decision-making.
Learning and Growth:
- Work closely with the Development Manager to gain hands-on experience in overseeing development initiatives.
- Demonstrate a willingness to adapt and learn new tools, technologies, and processes to enhance project outcomes.
Other Functions:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on project needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the development team.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in real estate development, construction, project coordination, or a related field; candidates with experience working with local municipalities are warmly encouraged to apply.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university (preferably in Real Estate, Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field).
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in MS Office and an interest in learning project scheduling software or similar tools.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work full-time from our Fort Lauderdale office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with construction documents or real estate development processes.
- Degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
