Position Description:
We are seeking a part time Guide to help lead our Early Childhood environment ("Spark" Studio ages 4 to 6). We are looking for an individual who patient and cary, is passionate about guiding children on their independent journey of life-long learning, and who possesses a depth, love, and commitment to Maria Montessori's methodology and materials.
In our 4 to 6 year old studio, this guide is expected to assist the lead guide in their effort to inspire our heroes to explore, be curious, and take ownership of their learning, built on the principles of Maria Montessori and other innovators in learning.
This candidate will be committing to part time work each day, which can be mornings, afternoons, or a combination of both. They will need to be available to occasionally be in the studio for a full day if the lead guide is ill or has some other emergency.
Qualifications Recommended but not required:
- Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and/or project-based experience required
- A deep curiosity about life and love of lifelong learning
- Innovative and entrepreneurial spirit
- Commitment to free market ideals
- Proven excellence in written and oral communication skills
- Evident passion for being on a Hero’s Journey.
This is a position for an independent learner who can work with little direct guidance; someone who likes to collaborate, experiment, evaluate and continually improve; someone who has a deep respect for all children believing that each human has genius within; and someone who is a flexible problem-solver. It is essential that this person can learn fast, loves to work hard and is an active reader and writer.
