Horticulturist - Container Gardener

Overview

Established Interior/Exterior landscaping company looking for a talented, self-motivated, Horticulturist to care for Exterior Container Gardens. We maintain healthy and appealing Urbanscapes for corporate offices, hotels, and high-end residences.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Caring for flowering and foliage Container Gardens and small designer landscape beds
• Monitor plantings with irrigation, fertilization, rotation, weeding, deadheading and pruning.

Education and Experience Requirement:

Must have a minimum of 3 years Employed Horticulture Experience and/or Degree in Horticulture or related field. Familiarity with Tropical and Local Exterior Plants.

Examples of Professional work experience may include nursery, garden center, landscape, gardener, etc.

Must be able to identify common plants and their health and maintenance requirements.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to be consistent and punctual.
• You must be well-organized and able to work independently and as a team member.
• Must have an attention to detail and appreciate the benefits of plants.
• Ability to drive company owned vehicles and possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Must meet insurance requirements.
• This is a physically demanding position requiring: good vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and lifting.
• Must be able to lift 40lbs, as needed.
• Must possess good dexterous use of both hands and be able to use scissors, pruners, hand saws, hoses, and other tools.
• Comfort in applying leaf cleaners and insecticides using hand-held pump sprayers.
