Job Description

Responsible for this position includes, among others, caring for and overseeing the health, planting and maintenance of Container Gardens, Green Roofs & Walls, and small Bedding areas.

Regular duties include pruning/deadheading of annual/perennial flowers, and their maintenance as needed, planting tropicals/flowers in containers and small bedding areas, watering, mulching, breakdown of seasonal beds/containers and soil amendment, fertilizing, pest prevention and irrigation needs.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of plants and growing conditions and requirements, including horticultural techniques, soil health and plant care.
• Proven experience in Exterior Horticulture of a minimum of 5 years. At least two consecutive years are required to be working with the same employer.
• Familiarity with pests and diseases
• You will need to have and maintain a current and clean driver’s license and record.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage and schedule maintenance routes.
• Physical stamina to handle labor-intensive tasks (lifting, bending, using necessary equipment and tools.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs on a needed basis.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• A strong work ethic, ability to work independently or with a team.
• A love of working outdoors and nature
