We want to work alongside someone who acts as an extension of our mission, values, and culture. This individual is driven to create meaningful experiences for our hosts, guests, and community while ensuring the success and profitability of our unique offerings. They also bring fun, authenticity, collaboration, creativity, and genuine hospitality to their life and work. We seek an individual who can bring the vision of the resorts to life. The right Attractions Supervisor checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.

The Attractions Supervisor is responsible for supervising all aspects of assigned attractions, including budgeting, hiring, training, supervising, developing and evaluating Team Leads, Safety Trainers and Attractions Hosts.  The Attractions Supervisor is responsible for achieving safety, friendliness, cleanliness, line speed/throughput and financial goals, as well as serving as the PIC of the Operations Team. The Attractions Supervisor is a training position. As such, it is required that the skills and performance are evaluated as being eligible for promotion. If performance does not fit that profile, the opportunity will be given to interview for other open positions within the Dollywood Company, with no guarantee of placement. All of this will be done in a manner consistent with the mission, values and operating philosophies and standards of the Dollywood Company.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

 

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, monitor and control operating budgets.
  • Ensure direct reports understand and operate within financial goals.
  • Interview, hire, schedule, coach, counsel, evaluate, perform corrective action and establish recognition programs.
  • Recognize and resolve conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Train and develop Team Leads, Safety Trainers and Hosts.
  • Evaluate operational efficiency by capturing success/learning that is accurate and timely in order to guide future decisions for improving operations.
  • Monitor operations for procedure compliance. Coordinate actions with the Safety and Maintenance Teams to make operational procedure changes.
  • Participate in cross training and support of Team objectives, to include functioning in the role of Department Person in Charge.
  • Coach and empower others, provides feedback to the team, and ensure accountability of team members for results.
  • Implement Dollywood Safety Procedures to include developing and enforcing of Safety Standards, Training Procedures and Emergency Procedures.
  • Create a positive first and last impression for park visitors through Guest Service, Friendliness and Attention to Detail within all areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and implement capacity and entertainment enhancement plans for areas of responsibility.
  • Coach teams on achieving hourly line speed/throughput goals.
  • Train and become a signed off Safety Trainer in areas of responsibility.

  • Able to tolerate various temperatures while working indoors and outdoors.
  • Able to operate/drive a company vehicle with valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties
  • Able to sit and/or stand for long/short periods
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work outdoors.
  • Able to wear a full body safety harness and climb up to a 200 foot lift in order to perform inspections, conduct ride evaluations and host training.
  • Able to climb evacuation steps and maintain good balance.
  • Able to ride all rides/attractions which require a physical ride through inspection.
  • Able to operate/drive company vehicles and have a valid driver’s license with proof of auto liability insurance.
  • Able to wear all PPE as required.
  • Able to tolerate all chemicals/detergents utilized in the area.
  • Able to be subjected to periodic random drug screening as outlined by company policy.
  • Able to remain attentive and alert at all times.
  • Able to memorize written safety standards and/or scripts.
  • Able to speak clearly to include the use of PA systems and two-way radios.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to write reports with clear and concise wording.
  • Strong organizational skills to be able to coordinate multiple tasks.
