Who We’re Looking For

The Director of Operations is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring operational excellence, and driving strategic growth. This individual will report to the Owner and partner closely with the Director of Finance to align the company’s mission, vision, and values with its operational strategies. The Director of Operations will manage staff, streamline processes, and foster a culture of teamwork and excellence, ensuring exceptional customer service, business profitability and healthy growth.

Primary Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve business goals and enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure quality service delivery and compliance with company standards.
  • Establish and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational success.
  • High-level oversight with scheduling, resource allocation, and job prioritization to meet customer needs effectively.

Team Leadership (L.E.A.D): (Leverage your influence. Empower your people. Add accountability. Develop your people)

  • Lead, mentor, and develop department managers and team members to build a high-performing workforce.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and identify opportunities for professional growth.
  • Support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent.
  • Regularly scheduled 1:1 meeting with direct reports

Customer Service Excellence:

  • Equip team to excel and prioritize the initiative to ensure exceptional customer experiences through timely and professional service delivery.
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns in alignment with the company’s values and mission.
  • Regularly review customer feedback to identify areas for improvement.

Strategic Planning and Growth:

  • Collaborate with the Owner/CEO to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for new services, market expansion, and process enhancements.
  • Maintain a focus on sustainable growth and long-term business impact.

Financial Stewardship:

  • Alongside the director of finance, manage budgets, control costs, and ensure financial health of operations
  • Collaborate with the finance department to forecast operational expenses and revenue.
  • Monitor job profitability and recommend process adjustments to optimize margins.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Promote a safe working environment and lead initiatives to minimize risks.
  • Stay informed on HVAC industry trends and emerging best practices.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 7 years of leadership experience, preferably in the HVAC, construction, or service industry.
  • Proven track record of managing operations, teams, and budgets.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

The Director of Operations will primarily work in an office setting but must be prepared to travel as needed to visit sites, meet with customers, or attend industry events. This role may involve extended periods of sitting, working on a computer, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously. The environment can be fast-paced and demanding, requiring the individual to manage stress and prioritize effectively.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
