What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Counsel position at Hertner, Block & Bowser, Inc.?
We are working with a publicly traded Company that is looking for a real estate attorney with mid-level experience
The Attorney is a key member of the Real Estate team for this Company and the main legal advisor for the operations staff. The Counsel will work closely with outside counsel and interact frequently with counsel for landlords.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting and negotiating real estate agreements, including purchase and sale agreements and lease agreements
- Providing legal advice to Real Estate, Asset Management and Construction teams on real estate matters, including condemnations, construction and environmental matters
- Developing training materials and conducting training of franchise and real estate personnel
- Manage and oversee outside counsel with respect to franchising and real estate litigation.
- Providing franchise compliance legal advice, including drafting default and termination notices, drafting and negotiating workout agreements, temporary licensing agreements and attending to other related enforcement matters
Qualifications & Skills:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school required
- Licensed to practice law in Florida or another state
- Knowledge of real estate law (transactions as well as commercial leasing) required
- 3-10 years of legal experience, with law firm experience required
- Transactional experience with strong drafting and negotiating skills
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multi-tasking environment with high-volume workload
