What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tasting Room Associate Lead (Wine) position at Herzog Wine Cellars?
The Tasting Room Associate Lead (TRA Lead) is responsible for promoting the sales of wine and non-wine merchandise, providing exceptional customer service, assisting with preparing monthly wine club packages, assisting with etching and bottle labeling as needed, conducting in-person tours, conducting and supervising inventory processes, assisting with Wine Club and Engraving Projects, conducting primary interviews of potential TRAs, and potentially overseeing other TRAs as a supervisor. The TRA Lead often work evenings and Sundays, maintaining open availability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs the following duties, but not limited to:
· Ensure that all visitors are greeted immediately when they enter the Tasting Room and provided with experiences that build brand loyalty.
· Serves wines in an appropriate manner, which is consistent with Tierra Sur training and standards.
· Manage high volume wine and merchandise transactions.
· Conduct and supervisor inventory processes.
· Build relationships with guests to maximize the sale of wine, merchandise, winery tours, and experiences.
· Create opportunities to sell other events, services and experiences offered on the property.
· Conduct primary interviews of potential TRAs.
· Assist with Wine Club and Engraving Project processes.
· Provide guests with background information on wines, merchandise, and the history of Tierra Sur through informal interaction and guided wine tours.
· Present the benefits of the Wine Club programs to guests and contribute to the growth of the Wine Club.
· Ensure smooth daily operations including effective and appropriate communication, successfully manage traffic flow throughout the day, and ensure that guests are being engaged and entertained.
· Prepare Wine Club boxes and shipments as needed.
· Load and unload wine cases as needed.
· Perform etching and bottling labeling as directed.
· Perform opening and closing duties.
· Work as a team with other associates to reach set daily and monthly sales targets.
· Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Tasting Room Leads are expected to provide guidance and oversight to Tasting Room Associates in the absence of the Tasting Room Manager.
Pay rate
- $23-$24/hr plus tips and eligible cash bonuses.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Three or more years of relevant experience in a wine tasting room, marketing, public relations, hospitality, or related experience is preferred.
Knowledge / Technical Skills: Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills; understanding of principles and practices of organization. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and experience with POS systems. Self-starter with the ability to organize and manage several projects simultaneously and exercise judgment in prioritizing and handling responsibilities. Strict attention to detail, responsiveness, sound judgment and proactive organization and planning skills.
Customer Service Skills:
Internal and external customer focus, politeness, confidence, tact, patience, and diplomacy while dealing with members. Professional Appearance. Excellent customer service, verbal communication and listening skills and the ability to deal effectively across all levels of the business organization. Ability to maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all members.
