SUMMARY
Performs most tasks assigned with little to no supervision. Initiates tests, road tests, and processes listed below with little to no direction from service managers or advisors.
- Works with advisors and customers with a professional and positive attitude to duplicate concerns.
- Positive outgoing attitude.
- Road test/test drives vehicle with customer(s) at time of service write up to duplicate and or verify concerns.
- Road test/test drives vehicles without customer(s) to duplicate and or verify concerns.
- Relays information about duplicating and or verifying customer concerns to the service advisor for vehicle repair order write up so that the proper information is documented to the technicians.
- Alerts the technician of findings and demonstrates the problem to the technician so that the technician can recreate the problem until the problem is resolved.
- Liaison between customer and technician regarding hard to duplicate concerns for noises, rattles, vibrations, etc.
- Liaison between advisor and technician regarding findings, duplications, and results.
- Compares customers vehicle to other like models to either verify concern and or rule out concern as normal operation as designed by Subaru of America.
- Works with other department managers to secure a test comparison vehicle for process of elimination of concerns.
- Works with technician to ensure the problem has been resolved by a series of tests, test drives, and or processes established by the technician to ensure that the concern has been rectified.
- Notifies technician, advisor, and managers when hard to resolve and or intermittent problems cannot be resolved so appropriate action can be taken for customer satisfaction.
- Alerts managers when vehicles are in for a recheck and or concerns which need to be elevated for lemon law and or Subaru buy back prevention.
- Documents detailed notes of all testing procedures and processes on the repair order hard card to include mileage in, mileage out, temperature, key cycles, operation of equipment as it relates to the tests, location testing grounds, established by the specific problem, other tests as needed.
- Ensures that the customer’s vehicle is returned in better condition than received, to include utilizing the car wash, vacuum, or other customer service-related operations as needed or instructed by manager.
- Keeps a regularly maintained log of vehicles driven.
- Ensures that the vehicle is returned to the customer free of grease and or grimy smudges, tools, testing equipment, and any other imperfections found during testing/inspections and alerts service managers of any patterns of lower than acceptable quality by technicians.
- Takes notation of customer presets and ensures that customer vehicle presets, settings, clock, and other convenience features are returned to the original position setting before returning to customer at completion of testing.
- Random quality control inspects service vehicles for quality assurance and alerts managers of any concerns.
Pay Starts at $20 per hour but can be higher depending upon experience.
Experience: Individual with C Technician level experience.
