Job Summary
- The candidate works within the Engineering Team to design, analyze, develop, qualify, and produce composite overwrapped pressure vessel (COPV) products primarily used in aerospace, energy, and commercial applications.
- The candidate demonstrates strong aptitudes in product design, processing, and manufacture.
- The candidate performs a variety of project related tasks including analysis, hands on fabrication, and testing.
- The candidate has passions for new energies, space, and aerospace.
- Utilize design, finite element analysis (FEA), and manufacturing software to determine the suitability of potential solutions.
- Support the preparation of design and analysis reports.
- Work with outside component vendors as necessary to specify components and assist with procurement.
- Provides suppliers technical direction.
- Utilize Design for Six Sigma (DfSS) principles to create robust solutions.
- Assist in the review of drawing packages to ensure conformance with established company and industry specifications and standards.
- Assist in the specification and approval of engineering change orders (ECO).
- Work within a cross-functional team to design, analyze, and develop filament-wound composite products.
- Assist with reviewing designs for the overall form, fit, and function of each design.
- Must have a working knowledge of CAD software including SolidWorks (preferred), Pro/E, AutoCAD product, or similar.
- Must be proficient in MS Office.
- Excellent knowledge of materials and processes engineering fundamentals ranging from material design, testing and validation methods, manufacturing processes, and equipment.
- Knowledge and experience with composites materials, processes, and fabrication methods (geared toward filament winding) is preferred but not required.
- Demonstration of individual contributions to successful team based technical projects is preferred.

- Works independently to complete individual tasks assigned by a team.
- Effective organizational and communication skills.
- Effective communication in English, both orally and written.
- Ability to work demanding hours, as necessary, to meet project deadlines.
- Exercises initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization with good judgement.
- Candidate must be enrolled in a bachelor degree program from an ABET accredited engineering or engineering technology program, or a closely related field. Master or Ph.D. candidates from a recognized engineering program will also be considered.
