What are the responsibilities and job description for the System Administrator position at Hexagon Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial?
Resident Engineer providing on-going System Administration and maintenance services. The resident position entails working for the customer site alongside the customer IT, Communications Center staff. The position is focused on the Hexagon Public Safety Dispatch, and Mobile system(s) and includes trouble shooting and maintenance of Hexagon Public Safety software, technical support, installation and configuration of same, SQL Server Database Maintenance, data loading, backup and purging. General System Administration duties such as installing operating system service packs and maintaining user accounts and deploying system and file updates. Participation in upgrades, maintenance releases and service packs is expected. The resident will also have a role in Map/GIS as it relates to the Hexagon Public Safety software.
In addition to assisting customer network and IT staff in supplying initial technical support to end-users, the resident will coordinate with Hexagon Support Analysts when resolving system and software issues. Some user interface configuration work and modification will be required but no actual software programming. Resident to also undertake issue resolution and troubleshooting of end-user problems in conjunction with the Customer Support Center. Informal training for customer staff in system administration activities as well as maintaining detailed documentation on the system and configuration will also be required. Actual end-user training is not within scope of this position. Successful candidate will be able to work weekends/modified 5 days a week schedule. This position is based in Washington, D.C.
