We have a unique opportunity available on our revenue recognition team in Huntsville, AL. Our organization quotes and closes hundreds of millions of dollars in new business every year. Every proposal or contract we negotiate brings financial risk.

In this role, you will perform financial risk assessment of proposals and contracts while applying the principles defined in International Financial Reporting Standards software revenue recognition guidelines. You will review quotes and proposals to ensure compliance with corporate standards and authority limits, appropriate pricing, positive cash flows, continuous revenue recognition, favorable terms, and generally protecting the organization's profitability.

The right candidate will possess the ability to equally understand the big picture and the minute details, as well as the creativity and adaptability to find solutions that strike a balance for both. Candidates should also possess confidence in communication, strong analytical skills, be a forward-thinking problem-solver, and have a high attention to detail and accuracy. You will work closely with many internal teams, especially Bids & Proposals, Sales, Project Accounting, Legal, and Accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive financial risk assessments for public safety, infrastructure, and geospatial contracts (both on-premises and SaaS) to ensure alignment with IFRS and US GAAP revenue recognition standards.
• Review quotes and proposals to ensure compliance with corporate standards and authority limits, appropriate pricing, positive cash flows, favorable terms, continuous revenue recognition, and generally protecting the organizations profitability.
• Offer financial risk mitigation strategies to sales, bids and proposals, project accounting, and FP&A, advising on Statement of Work assumptions, payment milestones, and acceptance criteria. Leverage detailed pricing analyses to support negotiations and ensure financially sound customer agreements.
• Ad hoc reporting and analyses in a variety of areas such as recurring revenue, cost trends, discount structures, system discrepancies, cloud computing expenses, payment milestones, and customer-specific rate analyses.
• Be experienced in, or willing to learn IFRS and GAAP revenue recognition standards to be able to document policy updates, identify and justify revenue recognition methods, provide written explanations and trainings to sales, etc.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong, demonstrated leadership skills
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook and Excel
• Experience in Salesforce a plus
• Experience in software related industry a plus
• Experience with or knowledge of software revenue recognition accounting and IFRS a plus
• Ability to work both independently and in a team
• Ability to multi-task and handle several priorities simultaneously
• Desire to succeed in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
• Ability to work in office at least 2 days a week – this is a hybrid position.
