HF Rubber Machinery, Inc., a subsidiary of the HF Mixing Group, is the global leader in the manufacturing of rubber and plastic processing equipment. HFRM, based in Topeka, Kansas is looking for a Quality Assurance Inspector. The QA Inspector is responsible for inspecting HFRM materials and products manufactured or processed which includes sheet steel or welded parts, machine shop parts, Sub-contracted components and metal castings for conformance to specifications.
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Examine materials or products for surface defects such as cracks, pits and incomplete welds.
- practice safe material handling when operating equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
- Compare completed product with blueprint to ensure proper completion of product assembly.
- Verify specified dimensions of products and/or materials.
- Inspect, test and/or measure materials or finished product with, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and various gauges.
- Document and record accurate inspection results.
- Accept or reject finished items.
- Discuss inspection results with appropriate personnel.
- Prepare and submit reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
- Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Technical degree or military-equivalent training preferred.
- Manufacturing or industrial experience is preferred
- Intermediate computer and word processing skills, in particular Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Software.
- Ability to effectively communicate, present information and answer questions clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers.
- Ability to analyze data or information by identifying the underlying principles, reasons or facts of information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems.
- Ability to organize, multi-task, plan, set priorities and exercise good judgment in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of HFRM.
- Demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
