IT Sequencing Specialist - 2nd Shift

An IT JIT (Just-In-Time) Sequencing Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the IT systems and processes related to Just-In-Time sequencing in an organization. They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials, information, and production processes in alignment with customer demands and production schedules.

Essential Functions:

• IT System Management: The IT JIT Sequencing Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the IT systems and tools used for JIT sequencing. They oversee system configurations, upgrades, and integrations to ensure optimal system performance and data integrity. They collaborate with IT teams or vendors to resolve system-related issues and ensure the availability of critical sequencing tools.

• Just-In-Time Sequencing: They manage the IT systems and processes involved in Just-In-Time sequencing. They work closely with production, logistics, and supply chain teams to analyze customer requirements, production schedules, and inventory levels. They develop sequencing plans and strategies to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of materials and components to support production.

• Data Integration and Analysis: The IT JIT Sequencing Specialist ensures seamless data integration between various IT systems, such as ERP, InSequence sequencing system, inventory management, and production planning systems. They analyze data related to customer orders, production schedules, and inventory levels to optimize sequencing activities. They identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement in sequencing processes and propose data-driven solutions.

• Process Optimization: They collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize JIT sequencing processes. They identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or process gaps and propose process improvements and automation solutions. They work closely with stakeholders and IT Change Coordinator to implement changes, monitor process performance, and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure continuous improvement.

• Supplier Collaboration: The IT JIT Sequencing Specialist collaborates with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and components. They establish electronic data interchange (EDI) connections or other communication channels to facilitate real-time information exchange. They work with suppliers to resolve sequencing-related issues, monitor supplier performance, and implement improvement initiatives.

• System Training and Support: They provide training and support to end-users on JIT sequencing systems and processes. They develop training materials, conduct workshops or webinars, and provide ongoing assistance to address user queries or issues. They ensure users have a clear understanding of sequencing procedures and how to effectively use the IT systems.

• Continuous Improvement: They actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance JIT sequencing processes, data accuracy, and system performance. They identify areas for improvement, propose solutions, and drive the implementation of changes. They stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in JIT sequencing and IT systems.

Secondary Functions:

• Maintains various operational logs and documents.

• Able to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

• Performs other duties as necessary and/or assigned.

Qualifications

Specialized Training, Skills, Abilities, Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field

• Proven experience in IT systems management, supply chain, or JIT sequencing roles

• Understanding of inventory and sequencing related modules within ERP systems, PLEX experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of Just-In-Time sequencing principles, methodologies, and tools

• Experience with sequencing systems, such as JIT sequencing software, InSequence experience required

• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to drive process optimization

• Familiarity with EDI and other communication protocols for seamless information exchange

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

• Use of video display terminal (VDT) for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time.

• Possible eye strain from extended periods of VDT viewing.

• Office environment with noise from computer peripherals such as mainframe, disk drives and printers. 

• Factory environment with noise from manufacturing equipment.  Exposure to dangerous equipment. 

• Possible serious injury due to carelessness around equipment.  

• Job requires standing, walking, climbing stairs and sitting.

• Sometimes lifts, carries or moves objects up to 40 pounds

• Ability to hear warnings from equipment, machines, vehicles and public-address systems.
