What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Coordinator position at Hi-Lite Airfield Services?
Summary/Objective
The Safety Coordinator is to represent Safety of Hi-Lite and uphold the Think Z philosophy.
Essential Functions

- Assist the Safety Manager with implementing safety plans while ensuring that they are being followed daily.
- Assist the Safety Manager in the development of OSHA workplace policies and procedures.
- Ensuring all signage and posting are appropriately updated and displayed at facilities and on vehicles/equipment (high pressure warning stickers, OSAH 300A Logs etc..).
- Conduct safety assessments in the field and at facilities to include safety equipment such as fire extinguishers.
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly calibrated, up to date and all safety saline’s and first aid items are replenished and within use-by dates.
- Conduct field safety walks and inspections before or during each project to analyze safety risks
- Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
- Assist in any safety functions deemed necessary by the Safety Manager or Leadership.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist the Safety Manager in the instruction and promotion of safety standards and safe operation.
- Assist the Safety Manager in providing solutions and intervention strategies for hygiene, health, and safety hazards.
- Assist the Safety Manager in the investigation of accidents and identify possible causes of the accident.
- Research new material and conduct new hire and recurrent safety training.
- Assist the Safety Manager in post-accident follow-up and corrective action training.
- Maintain inventory counts and levels on all safety equipment at all facilities and in all vehicles.
- Identify and purchase OSHA, EPA compliance items and safety equipment in all facilities and in all vehicles.
- Maintain the meeting schedule and documentation (minutes) of our Safety Committee Meetings.
- Maintain the meeting schedule and documentation (minutes) of our Incident Review Team meetings.
- Provide collaborative assistance to all departments when needed and with regard to safety.
Qualifications/ Experience
- 1-3 years’ experience in safety or a related field may be preferred.
- Possess an OSHA 10, 30 or 40.
- Ability to travel 70% - 75%.
- Possess or be willing to obtain a CDL license.
- Excellent PowerPoint, Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of federal, state and city safety requirements, including OSHA.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines.
- Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and outside on airfields. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work may vary from the typical Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m while working in the office.
Travel
Travel is required 70% - 75% of the time.

- High School Diploma

Salary : $65,000
