Warehouse Associate - Shipping – US

The Opportunity:
HTF is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join its team in the Frederick, MD distribution center. The primary responsibility of this key position will be all Shipping functions and duties but will also include cross-training in other duties such as receiving, picking and packing customer and stock orders. This position reports to the Warehouse Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Shipping:
- Handle all shipping functions for customer orders, both domestic, international and customer pickups
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs paperwork as required
- Use integrated third party (FedEx and UPS) software, plus other carrier websites to process shipments, obtain freight quotes, and track shipments
- Ensure that orders are shipped accurately (in accordance with customer shipping instructions and shipped to the correct customer) and packed for safe transit
- Utilize a working knowledge of freight terms, domestic shipping, and basic Incoterms to process shipments and recognize potential issues and errors
- Organize shipping area for incomplete orders (Credit Card processing issues or “Ship Completes”) so that they can easily be found and identified
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ensure timely shipment of all orders scheduled to ship each day
- Work closely with warehouse personnel, and other team members (Sales and Customer Service) to ensure efficient and accurate shipping operations and handling of escalated customer orders
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- May be asked to assist with other Warehouse responsibilities
- Picking and preparing outbound orders
- Processing inbound receipts and stocking picking locations
- Complete production orders for customer specified kits
- General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
- Assist in maintaining the safety of the warehouse
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety by complying with OSHA standards and regulations
Skills and Key Competencies:
- Solid experience with shipping processes, including documentation, packaging, and logistics
- Proficiency in using inventory management systems or software.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must be comfortable with technology and work with multiple software applications
- Can perform simple math and write legibly
- Be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be ready to start work on-time daily and maintain pattern of strong attendance
- Proven ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and meet required schedules and deadlines
Education and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Possess an average understanding of shipping practices in a distribution environment
- Must have a minimum of two years of prior experience in warehouse or distribution center, preferably in a shipping role
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
