RING OPERATOR I
This position is 1ST SHIFT and on-site
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
SUMMARY
The Ring Operator is responsible for working with Honeycomb segments to be formed into a ring. This position needs good visual acuity, attention to detail, ability to operate hand tools, basic math skills and good physical strength. In addition, all operators are required to comply with all safety protocols to complete daily tasks at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under direction of the Production Supervisor the duties of this position include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. The following duties and responsibilities apply to Ring Operator I:

Understand and follow Hi Tech Honeycomb’s Quality Policy, System Procedures and Operations Manuals.

Understand and follow safety procedures
-
Understand and follow procedures outlined in the General Shop instructions and the Ring Procedure found in the Operating Manual (O.M.)

Ability to read and understand travelers and sketches ensuring Job ID’s and Customer ID’s match.

Check all dimensions for non-conformances
-
Prepare honeycomb segment for any ‘first article cut-to-length’

Roll honeycomb into ring form
-
Sand end cuts to final dimension
-
Obtain the ‘first article buy-off’
-
Process remaining Honeycomb segments into ring
-
Follow traveler dimensional requirements
-
Maintain a clean environment
-
Notify Mentor/Lead/Supervisor of any issues during procedure
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Manufacturing experience is desired.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills required.
REASONING ABILITY
This individual must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
This individual must be able to read standard Traveler form and supplemental documents to perform regular duties as required of this and sequential duties and positions. Ability to utilize specialized tools to measure and confirm tolerances is required.
