What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineer - 3rd Shift position at Hi-Tech Mold & Engineering, Inc.?
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
- Supervise process techs including controlling work schedules, performance appraisals, employee counseling, discipline, and completion of required paperwork (absence reports, vacation requests, overtime approval, discipline forms, training records)
- Conduct training of new process technicians, continuing education of existing personnel
- Continuous improvement of quality, processing, cycle times, part weight reduction, process parameters, end of arm tooling
- Coordinate tool and material trials and maintain proper documentation as required utilizing the rigorous validation process
- Maintain tool preventative maintenance program, internal tool repair program, maintain documentation as required
- Work with shift supervisor to create proper shut down timing to minimize material loss in purging
- Lead activities to reduce scrap to meet plant goals
- Review process checklist and verifications for accuracy
- Follows and supports quality, environmental, health, and safety procedures as applicable to job
- Any additional duties as assigned by supervision
- Must maintain regular and predictable attendance, including frequent overtime
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, use of both hands, sitting, speaking
- Must be able to walk, climb, bend, stoop, overhead reach, pull, crawl
- Must have good visual acuity to recognize color
- Must be able to use both hands in holding and trimming parts
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds rarely
- Must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematics
- Must have knowledge of engineering thermoplastic materials
- Engineering Degree and two years of experience in Plastic Injection Mold process control, troubleshooting, machine repair; In lieu of degree at least 5 years equivalent experience
- Must be able to operate overhead crane and forklift
- Must be knowledgeable in basic general maintenance
- Must be knowledgeable in robotics
- Prior supervisory or group leader experience preferred
