What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator - 2nd shift position at Hi-Tek Manufacturing?
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
High school diploma or GED required
CNC Machining certificate from a Trade School preferred or acceptable work experience in lieu of schooling
Must meet the ITAR definition of §120.15 U.S. person
Knowledge of Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Okuma controls as plus
Experience with G & M codes preferred
Ability to perform basic math functions including basic trigonometry
Experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment, aerospace industry preferred
Physical Requirements
Lift, push and / or pull up to thirty-five pounds regularly
Operate overhead crane or other lifting equipment when necessary
Stand at least 95% of scheduled shift
Walking or climbing stairs as needed to perform job duties as assigned
Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and materials
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 20 / 20 vision (natural or corrected) required with ability to pass annual vision test as required
Essential Duties :
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the operator is responsible for following all policies and procedures associated with the various parts and equipment that he or she will be trained and certified to run. In addition, operators load / unload parts to fulfil production demands, inspect parts using various precision measuring tools, accept or reject parts, and communicate any changes, both verbally and in writing
Set-up and operate machines, load / unload parts, and communicate changes and results (in writing and verbally) while adhering to a strict time schedule.
Understand machine offsets and proper protcol to make adjustments as needed
Inspect and verifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment as necessary (micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Good mechanical aptitude and some "shop math" is needed.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Exceptional time management and or organization skills. Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time.
Always take ownership and be accountable for your actions.
Good and reliable attendance and a positive attitude are a must
