Custodian I Job Description Responsible to: Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation Manager General Description: To achieve and maintain a clean, smooth, safe site Qualifications: Equivalent to the completion of 12th grade Knowledge of school operation and necessary maintenance skills to satisfactorily complete the assignment (i.e. electrical, plumbing, carpentry.) Satisfactory completion of the District employee’s minimum competency test Duties and Responsibilities: Follows the daily cleaning schedule for classrooms, offices, library and cafeteria Assists in moving or rearranging chairs, tables, desk, furniture and other equipment Reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards to immediate supervisor Performs services in individual classrooms as directed by supervisor Assists in receiving and shelving classroom and cafeteria supplies Daily locks doors, closes windows, locks playground gates and sees that the school is secure before leaving Other duties as assigned by the supervisory personnel Performs other related duties as required Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of all employees Keep supply room stocked and supplies put away Minor maintenance items as required Salary Schedule: Paid in column F of Classified Salary Schedule Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually.
