Peer Support Specialist – Lawrence Healthcare

About the Role:
Under immediate supervision of the Clinial Managers, the Peer Support Specialist will
- Provide client and family group sessions
- Treat a selected caseload of female or mal clients suffering from behavioral health issues and addiction
- Lead peer group programming and participate in multi-disciplinary treatment

Job Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor level degree in Psychology, social work, or related field program
- Peer Support Certification from an AHCCS recognized training program
- At least two years prior experience in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred
- Requires knowledge of the impact of the disease process and human behavior
- Completion of CPR and CPI within first 30 days of employment
- Schedule flexibility, holiday, and weekend rotation is REQUIRED
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists Clinical Director with budget expectations of the Department
- Responsible for case management activities on all shifts including weekends
- Submits timely repair and maintenance requisitions when identified
- Recruits and interviews potential new hires
- Submits programming supply requests to Clinical Director
- Adheres to DMHA and Life Safety regulations
- Adheres to Joint Commission Requirements
- Reports safety hazards to supervisor or Executive Director
- Preforms appropriate hand hygiene throughout the shift
- Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately
- Completes nontherapeutic group sessions
- Monitors and tracks group attendance and participation
- Documents group notes in the EMR timely and sufficiently
- Reports group notes and concerns to Clinical Manager
- Connects with Clients and teaches coping techniques maintains a good repour with clients and other team members effectively refers clients to support group
