What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teen Program Leaders position at Hidden Valley Camp?
Hidden Valley Adventures
Program features ropes course, wilderness canoe trip, hiking, rock climbing, and white water rafting across Maine.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead out of camp trips featuring wilderness and outdoor adventures. Includes outdoor living education and camping.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced leader familiar with outdoor adventures and camping.
Wilderness First Aid or equivalent
Lifeguard certification (training available)
Valid driving license
Hidden Valley Alive
Program features advanced performing and visual arts work for teens aged 14-15. Instill your love of the arts into children from across the globe with the freedom to follow your own path in the creative process.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan curriculum for group's month at camp. Activities will include trips out of camp to see performances and galleries around Maine. Theater and visual arts course work completed during the summer and will culminate in a performance written, directed and starred in by the teens. In addition, an art gallery to feature their work is displayed at camp.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with children and teens
Course work or experience in any of the visual or performing arts
Desire to create and share art across various mediums
Hidden Valley Community
Program features community living and service projects throughout Maine and within the Hidden Valley community.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan projects and activities designed to allow participants to become active members of the local community. Participants will learn how communities are formed and operate, how to be a participating member of those communities, and learn to lead. Projects may include restoring natural resources, working with younger children and the elderly, and volunteering at local fairs and festivals. The Community Program lives on a 17-acre off-the-grid farmstead, with a large garden and private space for exploration. The group prepares some of its own meals and explores community projects around the state of Maine.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced leader familiar with community living principles
Community service experience
Able to create and implement a program that will inspire cooperative living
