It has been a while since we have heard of companies in acquisition mode - and the market is starting to get a bit warmer. This growing local company HQ is looking to strengthen its internal accounting team by adding an Accounting Manager who has worked with a Private Equity holding company and has implemented a large ERP - they are using NetSuite. This Accounting Manager reports to a very well balanced Controller who is an excellent mentor. Growth options are abundant as there is a succession plan that involves this position.
We view this as a tremendous opportunity to join a growing, exciting company in the heart of Denver, Colorado. This role will drive strategic initiatives by delivering insightful metrics to our Controller and Chief Financial Officer and being the heir apparent to the Controller position in a 3-5 year horizon.

Here is what we need:
- Accounting Manager experience in the Service industry
- Former experience reporting to a Private Equity holding company
- Establish financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information
- Experience in NetSuite would be ideal
- Prior experience managing a team
Month-End Close:
- Manage the month-end close checklist to ensure timely, accurate closings.
- Prepare, review, and approve monthly journal entries following GAAP.
- Oversee bank and balance sheet reconciliations, including detailed balance sheet analysis.
Cash Oversight & Automation:
- Oversee cash accounting processes and ensure accurate recording of cash transactions.
- Manage integrations with banking platforms to automate bank reconciliations and reduce manual intervention.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure seamless data flow and maintain robust audit documentation.
Sales & Use Tax Compliance:
- Utilize Avalara to ensure accurate calculation and timely remittance of sales tax.
- Support annual tax preparation and maintain compliance with tax regulations.
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze monthly financial results, investigate anomalies, and work with operations and sales teams to resolve issues for completeness.
- Oversee the 1099 process and assist with financial and insurance audits.
Fixed Assets & ROU Oversight:
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposal in line with GAAP.
- Oversee right-of-use (ROU) asset accounting for leases, ensuring accurate reporting.
Acquisitions & Systems Integration:
- Assist with due diligence and the integration of new acquisitions into existing accounting systems.
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to ensure smooth data migration and process alignment.
Education/Experience
- Minimum 5-9 years experience in accounting/finance (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required MBA preferred
- CPA preferred
- Experience with financial reporting requirements for venture financing preferred
