Company Description

High Desert Heart & Vascular is the only independent cardiology clinic in the Treasure Valley. The clinic's team is highly trained and dedicated to supporting patients in living healthy and fulfilling lives.


Job Summary:

The APP will provide advanced care to patients with cardiovascular conditions. Working collaboratively with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals, the APP will perform assessments, diagnoses, and treatments, ensures continuity of care, and promote heart health through patient education and preventive strategies. This role will involve inpatient and outpatient setting.


Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Care:

  • Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including history-taking, physical exams, and diagnostic testing.
  • Develop, implement, and manage treatment plans for patients with acute or chronic cardiac conditions (e.g., heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension, CAD).
  • Interpret results from diagnostic tests, such as echocardiograms, stress tests, ECGs, and laboratory results.
  • Prescribe medications and manage medication regimens for cardiovascular conditions.
  • Provide follow-up care and monitor the progress of cardiac patients.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Collaborate with cardiologists, primary care providers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and high-quality care.
  • Act as a resource for nursing staff and other healthcare professionals regarding cardiac care.

Patient Education and Advocacy:

  • Educate patients and families about cardiovascular conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications (e.g., diet, exercise, smoking cessation).
  • Provide counseling on preventive strategies to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
  • Advocate for patients and ensure their understanding of care plans and available resources.

Administrative and Research Duties:

  • Document patient visits and treatments in electronic medical records (EMRs) in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects related to cardiovascular health.
  • Stay updated on advancements in cardiology and maintain certifications through continuing education.

Qualifications:

Education and Certification:

  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) from an accredited body or Certificate as a Physician Assistant (PA) from an accredited body.
  • State licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., ACLS and BLS) may be required.

Experience:

  • 2 years of clinical experience in cardiology or a related specialty preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with cardiac diagnostic tools, medications, and interventions.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and teams.
  • Ability to handle high-stress environments and manage complex cases effectively.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and diagnostic equipment related to cardiology.

Work Environment:

  • Involves discharging patients from the hospital post procedure.
  • 1 night a week or less of telephone only call.
  • Potential exposure to emergency situations requiring quick decision-making.
  • May require standing for extended periods and occasional travel between facilities.

Salary : $110,000 - $135,000
