JOB DESCRIPTION:
As an integral part of the clinical team, the Substance Abuse Counselor will provide direct services to clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders at the partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient (OP) levels of care.
DUTIES:
·Facilitate groups daily and conduct weekly individual counseling sessions
·Develop collaborative treatment plans with clients
·Attend and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings twice weekly
·Provide case management services, including linkage to community resources and referrals to alternate levels of care
·Coordinate with county and state court systems, including Recovery Courts, DCP&P, Probation, etc.
·Maintain client records, including weekly and monthly progress notes
SKILLS:
·Ability to create and maintain strong therapeutic alliances with clients
·Knowledge of ASAM criteria and continuum of care
·Knowledge of co-occuring and trauma-informed care
·Proficiency with NJSAMS preferred; further training to be provided upon hire
·Competency in DAP note documentation format
·Excellent time management and organization skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
- LSW or LAC current licensure
- CADC
- CADC Interns may also apply
HOURS:
Full-time position. Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm.
