The Workman School of Dental Medicine is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Academic Assessment Coordinator to join our newly expanding CARE team at High Point University’s Workman School of Dental Medicine. This role is essential in supporting the academic operations of the school ensuring smooth functioning of our program’s assessment. You will be responsible for the implementation, and management of the assessment tools and strategies across our curriculum. As a critical member of our academic team, you will play a key role in ensuring that assessment logistics and data are tracked and organized in a preordained system.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Health Sciences, or a related field.
Experience and Training
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic assessment, educational support, or a similar role within higher education, ideally in a health-related discipline.
- Experience working with assessment tools and systems such as ExamSoft or similar educational software.
- Experience in data entry and maintaining assessment records to support student learning and curriculum development.
- Demonstrated ability to work with faculty and staff to support academic assessment and provide troubleshooting support.
Preferred Education & experience
Master’s degree in Education, Educational Assessment, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Bloom's Taxonomy and its application in creating effective assessments.
- Experience with accreditation mapping and ensuring alignment of assessments with curriculum and standards.
- Experience in dental education or academic support within a medical/health sciences environment.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards and curricular mapping in health professions education.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accuracy in data entry and assessment management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues related to assessment logistics and software tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other educational technologies.
- Flexibility and Adaptability in a start-up model environment.
- Familiarity with dental or healthcare education is a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support Daily Activities: Serve as a liaison by assisting faculty, staff, and students in their daily activities, providing support and troubleshooting as needed as pertains to assessments, content retrieval, etc. Proctor knowledge assessments and assist with running other assessments.
- Faculty Development: Work with our Manager of Education Program to educate and support faculty in writing high-quality exam questions across various cognitive levels of Bloom's Taxonomy to ensure assessment accurately measure our learning outcomes and are in line with INDBE and CODA requirements.
- Question Development & Collection: Coordinating and organizing the collection of assessment questions/test banks, ensuring alignment with dental board competencies, curricular goals, and accreditation standards.
- Exam Creation & Management: Construct assessments in educational software such as ExamSoft, manage exam logistics/scheduling, and ensure seamless exam administration and academic integrity via proctoring. Coordinating
- Data Entry: Input, maintain, and consolidate assessment data/records to provide valuable insights into student performance, curricular effectiveness, and areas for learner improvement and program QA/QI. Our program prides itself on extensive question by question analysis.
- Personalized Student Support: Work with Education Committees & CARE Team to implement remediation plans for learners requiring additional support, using data insights to address specific areas of need. Connect faculty and learners for strong remediation efforts.
- Curriculum & Accreditation Mapping: Based on preset workflows, ensure all assessments are mapped and aligned to board and accreditation standards, contributing to the continuous improvement of our academic program. Work closely with members of the Education team for continuity of mapping.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Evaluation: Ongoing performance reviews is conducted along with an annual assessment by Manager of Education Technology/Manager of Education Programs and input from the faculty and students.
