The David S. Congdon School of Entrepreneurship at High Point University is searching for a new colleague to teach in the Entrepreneurship program. The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of Entrepreneurial experience through teaching, practice, consulting, leading, or business ownership experience. A PhD in Entrepreneurship or Business or a Master’s Degree in Business or other relevant major is required.
The successful candidate could teach a variety of undergraduate courses, such as Business Modeling and Feasibility, Venture Funding, Entrepreneurial Finance, Family Business, Entrepreneur Law, Entrepreneurial Marketing, Pitching Business Ideas etc. Depending on qualifications, there will be an opportunity to add more specialized courses to the curriculum. The regular teaching load at HPU is three, four-credit-hour courses per semester on a 9-month contract with the opportunity for summer teaching. In addition, the successful candidate will have additional administrative responsibilities such as academic advising, university service, etc.

Essential Qualifications:
- A commitment to quality teaching, professional growth, and university service
- Be a good communicator, collaborator and team player who can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, extraordinary environment
- 10 years of Professional Entrepreneurial experience or equivalent experience in business start-ups and growth.
- University-level teaching experience is preferred but not required
Education:
- A PhD in Entrepreneurship or Business or a master’s degree in business or other relevant major with extensive professional experience (10 years) in Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial Leadership.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with colleagues across campus for curriculum design and delivery
- Provide mentorship and advisement for students in and beyond the classroom.
- Communicate teaching and research activities through frequent and effective communication with the department chair
- Maintain a professional development program or active research portfolio
- Act as a representative and advocate for the program, school, and the university
- Actively participate in committees within the department, school, and university, as well as community in professional and governmental organizations
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department chair
