What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Technician position at High Purity Technology?
HPT is looking to add a Production Technician to its team. Responsibilities will include the following:
- Oxygen Cleaning: Individual will develop, with training, an understanding of the HPT O2 cleaning procedures for cleaning and packaging of fittings, tubing, valves, gauges and other mechanical components that are either purchased by HPT or supplied by its customers.
- Individual will become familiar with the different chemicals and processes involved in order to successfully perform the cleaning requirements. Individual will be required to work with chemicals such as Citric Acid, DI Water, Nitric Acid and Methyl Alcohol for the purpose of cleaning components and fittings.
- Electropolishing (EP): The individual will be cross trained in electropolishing both tubing and components. These are two different processes. Electropolishing 20' and 10' tubing involves utilizing hand tools, cleaning and purging with Nitrogen, working around EP chemicals and learning how to set up and operate the EP machines mechanical, timing and electrical systems. EP of components involves using hand tools, building fixtures and jigs, working with EP chemicals and DI water. Individuals are expected to learn how the electrical system functions which reacts with the chemicals that is essential to initiating the EP process.
- Cleanroom Protocol: The Individual will be required to spend time in the HPT cleanroom for the purpose of final inspection of O2 cleaned parts and packaging. Cleanroom experience is desired. Individual will be required to wear a cleanroom gown, hair net and gloves when in the cleanroom environment. Length of time in the cleanroom could range from 1 to 4 hours at a time.
- This position will be required to work in other areas such as shipping and receiving, mechanical polishing and copper cleaning as demand and production require. All training will be provided to work in these areas.
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
- Must possess the ability to read and follow instructions, read a tape measure and calipers.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. mechanically unassisted and stand for long periods of time.
- Work as a team.
- Mechanical aptitude is strongly desired. Mechanical background with 3 years of manufacturing, or equipment maintenance and hands on experience desired.
- Ability to work unassisted.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Work day is 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM M-F. Overtime as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
