Job Summary:
The High School Boys Basketball Coach is responsible for leading and developing the boys' basketball program (7-12) while promoting academic success, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This position requires strong leadership, coaching expertise, and the ability to foster positive relationships with student-athletes, staff, and the community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•Plan and conduct practices, develop game strategies, and oversee all aspects of the basketball program.
•Foster a competitive, disciplined, and positive team culture that emphasizes skill development and character building.
•Ensure player safety and adhere to school, conference, and AAA regulations.
•Monitor student-athlete academic progress and eligibility requirements.
•Manage program logistics, including scheduling, budget, fundraising, and equipment needs.
•Assist student-athletes with the college recruiting process.
•Maintain effective communication with players, parents, administration, and the community.
•Encourage and support multi-sport athletes, coordinating with other coaches to ensure balanced participation.
•Effectively manage and develop assistant coaches to ensure program consistency and growth.
•Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in education or related field (preferred).
•Valid Arkansas teaching license.
•High school or collegiate coaching experience (preferred).
•Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
•Commitment to strength and conditioning as a key component of player development.
•Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
•Proficient with the use of Hudl.
