About the Position

We seek a visionary and collaborative leader to guide our high school. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional skills in relationship building, instructional improvement, data analysis, and cultural change management. The successful candidate will demonstrate strengths in systems thinking, organizational change, learning, and fostering a positive school culture.

 

Although this position is for the 2025-26 school year, depending on the candidate, could start the transition during the 2024-25 school year. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership to promote a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Develop and implement school policies, programs, and procedures in alignment with district, state, and federal regulations.

  • Oversee daily school operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment for students, staff, and parents.

  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of all students.

  • Promote the use of data-driven decision-making to improve instructional practices and student outcomes.

  • Support and supervise teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies and professional development.

  • Monitor student performance data and implement strategies to ensure all students achieve academic success.

  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to promote positive student behavior and attendance.

  • Collaborate with staff to provide academic, emotional, and social support to students.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to support professional growth.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment for all staff.

  • Build strong relationships with parents, community members, and local organizations.

  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to promote the school's vision and goals.

  • Encourage parental involvement and participation in school activities and decision-making processes.

  • Further the district's work in maintaining a robust multi-tiered system of support.

  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive school culture that values diversity, equity, and respect.

  • Promote a safe and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to succeed.

  • Establish rigorous academic standards aligned with state and national benchmarks.

  • Monitor and evaluate curriculum implementation to ensure it supports high academic achievement.

  • Provide academic support and enrichment opportunities for students to reach their full potential.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate.

  • Possess or be eligible for a Washington State Principal Certificate.

  • Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.

  • Three years of successful teaching experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in assessing and improving student learning.

  • Knowledge of PBIS, SEL, and/or other related school culture programs.

  • Experience working with a diverse student population.

  • Knowledge and/or experience with special education, 504 plans, and ELL instruction.

  • Effective background in behavior management systems and strategies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Organizational Change Management: Expertise in leading and managing change within an educational setting, including developing strategies, engaging stakeholders, and navigating transitions effectively.

  • Culture and Climate Development: Demonstrated ability to foster a positive and inclusive school climate that promotes student growth, staff collaboration, and a sense of community.

  • Instructional Leadership: Deep understanding of effective instructional practices, curriculum development, and data-driven decision-making to improve student learning outcomes.

  • Data Analysis and Utilization: Skills in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting various data sources to inform school improvement efforts, monitor student progress, and evaluate program effectiveness.

  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members, fostering trust, open communication, and collaboration.

Career and Technical Education (CTE): Knowledge of and experience with CTE programs is highly desirable, including an understanding of industry trends, career pathways, and work-based learning opportunities.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT/BENEFITS

  • Contract: 215 days
  • Sick/Personal Leave: 12 days per year of sick leave and 3 days of personal leave.
  • Retirement: Two plan choices available with DRS, Plan 2 and Plan 3.
  • District will pay for full professional member dues up to one state principal association or WASA.
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance through SEBB*

 

START DATE

  • August 1st, 2025 with potential cross over training during the 24-25 school year and some conferences in July 2025.

*Benefits through SEBB is determined by the number of hours an employee is anticipated to work during the school year. Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a school year (September 1 through August 31) is eligible for benefits. 

 

 

Salary : $135,585 - $146,761
