What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School: Registrar/Attendance Clerk position at High School?
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Registrars are administrative professionals whose duties include the maintenance of student records. These records include, but are not limited to, attendance records, immunization records, grades, and transfer information.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Experience in word processing, database, and spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of computer usage and modern office practices
- Effective communication techniques and procedures.
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Establish cooperative relationships in a calm and tactful manner
- Effectively carry out oral and written directions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform general tasks such as making copies, delivering papers / mail to staff mailboxes, answering phones and delivering messages as necessary, and checking students into and out of school.
- Enroll new students throughout the school year. This involves handing out and explaining paperwork, contacting the bus barn about transportation and inputting all information into the computer as well as contacting other schools for information.
- Greet families and take care of the enrollment process for new high school students at screenings.
- Updating enrollment information for every student in grades 9-12 at the beginning of every school year.
- Maintain all permanent records for all students 9-12.
- Attend court proceedings when school records are subpoenaed.
- Copy and mail records for students transferring out of district, and updating their status on our computer system.
- Maintain confidentiality per FERPA.
- Fill in and assist other secretaries as needed; take care of attendance, lunch count and other duties assigned by the principal or assistant principal.
SALARY / WORK DAYS: $24,300 - $40,587 based on years of experience, 215 days
