Job Description
Supervises and coordinates activities of packaging technicians. Coordinates flow of material and labor through the department. Ensures department meets and exceeds established safety standards. Responsibilities to include planning, assigning, and directing work.
Responsibilities
- Thorough knowledge of ERP systems and the ability to learn “Core” which is our ERP system.
- Knowledge and understanding of packaging BOMS to ensure that each individual part numbers are being packaged with the correct items per the BOM.
- The ability to train the packaging staffing on the correct methods and tools required to perform the packaging process.
- Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, word processing software and presentation software.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work-related problems.
- Coordinates with the warehouse team to resolve issues with shortages or problems with kits in the packaging department.
- Coordinate with quality inspectors to ensure products progressing to finished goods meet customer requirements.
- Problem solves, persuades and motivates employees.
- Recognize and make timely corrections in a rapidly changing environment to keep packing on track and effective.
- Work under pressure and meet deadlines/production schedules.
- Excellent time management skills handling multiple priorities daily.
- Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong background in packaging and manufacturing processes
- Mechanical aptitude with experience in hand tools and assembly
- Familiarity with ERP systems and effective time management skills
- Previous experience operating forklifts and working in warehouse environments
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,807.13 - $51,552.68 per year
