We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transportation Design Project Manager to lead and oversee transportation design projects from inception to completion for a growing engineering consulting firm. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage transportation design projects, including roadway, highway, and multimodal infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
- Develop and oversee project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Lead design teams and provide technical guidance in transportation engineering principles and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project goals and regulatory requirements are met.
- Prepare and review engineering design plans, reports, and specifications to include: design layouts, final design plans, specifications for transportation projects.
- Conduct quality control and risk assessments to maintain project integrity and compliance.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client engagement, and expanding the firm’s transportation design portfolio.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and project staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required (State of FL preferred).
- 5 years of experience in transportation design and project management.
- Proficiency in industry software including MicroStation, and InRoads.
- Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles, design standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., AASHTO, FHWA, DOT standards).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects and leading cross-functional teams.
- Business development and client relationship management experience preferred.
