We are a fast-growing Amazon Delivery Service Partner (DSP) revolutionizing last-mile delivery in New York City through the use of eco-friendly e-cargo bikes. We’re looking for a driven and experienced Operations Manager to lead our team and help us scale with excellence.
Position Summary:
As the Operations Manager, you will oversee all aspects of day-to-day delivery operations using our fleet of e-cargo bikes. You will lead a team of Delivery Associates, Dispatchers, and Leads, ensuring the operation runs smoothly, efficiently, and in full compliance with Amazon’s standards. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable with weekends and extended hours, and can consistently deliver results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Operations: Manage dispatch, route planning, and real-time delivery performance across the service area.
- Team Leadership: Hire, train, schedule, and mentor a diverse team of Delivery Associates and Leads.
- Performance Management: Track and improve KPIs including on-time delivery rates, safety metrics, rescue volume, and customer satisfaction.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce DOT regulations, Amazon DSP safety protocols, and internal SOPs. Maintain a strong safety culture and address incidents swiftly.
- Fleet Oversight: Ensure all e-cargo bikes are maintained in good working condition. Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and fleet readiness.
- Scheduling & Labor Management: Build efficient weekly schedules and adjust staffing to meet volume demands.
- Problem Solving: Respond in real time to challenges such as equipment failures, staffing issues, or delivery delays.
- Culture Building: Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment rooted in respect and accountability.
- Customer Focus: Drive a customer-obsessed mindset throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in operations, logistics, or transportation management (Amazon DSP, FedEx, or last-mile delivery a plus)
- Proven experience leading teams in high-paced, physically demanding environments
- Excellent organizational, time management, and leadership skills
- Strong communication and decision-making abilities
- Familiarity with routing software, GPS tracking tools, and delivery mobile apps
- Comfortable working extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with Amazon DSP tools, metrics, and operational standards
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Familiarity with NYC geography and traffic patterns
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $65,000 – $85,000/year, based on experience
