Live-in Caregiver

Highland Caregivers is a non-medical private care agency located in Waterbury, CT and helps people of all ages stay in their homes by giving them extra assistance. We offer personal care services to individuals, families, facilities, and retirement centers.

We are looking for qualified Caregivers for LIVE IN positions who will improve the quality of life as well as providing care to our seniors in the convenience of their own home.

Job Description: Live-In Caregiver

-Drivers License and Car(reliable transportation) are required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care in client's home setting and help with personal care if needed
• Meal preparation
• Help to maintain client dignity
• Keep client's surroundings clean and safe
• Maintain good communication with client and establish a professional relationship with family members.
• Provide assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing
• Accompany clients to medical appointments and social outings
• Report any changes in clients' health or behavior to the appropriate healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate records of services provided
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding
• Medication reminders
• Accompany to personal appointments/obligations and then returning to their client's home

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year working experience with the elderly
• Previous experience as a caregiver or in a related field is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
• Reliable transportation to travel to clients' homes
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Compassionate and caring nature
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families
