What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oncology Office Manager (Monroe, LA) position at Highland Clinic?
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Supervise and coordinate day-to-day clinical activities of a multi-site practice. Assure that required policies, systems, procedures and standards are in effect and communicated to the oncology personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Analyze general and specific business conditions as they relate to operational issues and advise Administration on these matters.
- Supervises staff, evaluate work, and make recommendations for staffing and disciplinary issues. Coordinate employee time off and provide coverage when needed.
- Oversee the management of the infusion room schedules and calendars for registered nurses administering chemo infusion therapy.
- Maintain clinical skills to provide coverage when needed.
- Develop continued educational training for nursing staff.
- Provide effective communication and adequate information flow within the practice.
- Patient/family advocate.
- Manage risk and oversee practice compliance with appropriate accreditation body standards, including but not limited to USP Compliance.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Maintain all clinic and patient confidentiality.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Associate degree with business background. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current Louisiana Registered Nurse with ONCC certification, preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive clinical and operational experience in a healthcare environment, preferably oncology.
- Knowledge of USP compliance standards.
- BLS/ACLS certification preferred.
- Ability to function effectively in a fluid, dynamic, and rapidly changing environment
