The Upward Bound program at Highland Community College (HCC) depends upon the quality of its part-time teaching and tutor/mentor staff to provide instruction, academic support, and guidance to program participants during the summer and academic year programs.
Summer Program Instructor Positions:
Highland Community College Upward Bound are now accepting applications for part-time instructor positions in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Mathematics (Test Preparation), English Language Arts (Test Preparation), Literature and Writing, And/Or FHS Academy Pathways: Technology & Engineering, Health Sciences, Leadership & Service or Elective course(s). The instructor is responsible for teaching one to three sections during the summer session. Classes are taught weekdays (M, T, W, or R) on the HCC campus
Educational Requirements: Minimum Bachelor's degree in education, and/or related field with certification and/or teaching experience in appropriate content area.
Required Experience: Minimum one-year teaching experience or master work experience in area. Applicants must possess an understanding of the needs of disadvantaged youth and the creativity to respond to student learning needs with innovative ideas and approaches without compromising course content. Strong interpersonal skills are essential. The candidate must be skilled in creating innovative curricula aligned with course objectives and adept at connecting with project participants from diverse backgrounds.

Compensation: (Determined by experience and certification) $35-50 per hour (instructional hour) (Includes prep-time)
