Responsibilities
- Advise the Highland County Board of Supervisors on matters related to solid waste removal, budgetary issues, and other county ordinances.
- Work closely with constitutional officers, building and zoning administrators, and the planning commission to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Draft policies, ordinances, easements, deeds, leases, and legal memoranda.
- Review contracts and provide reports related to that review.
- Negotiate leases, contracts, deeds, and easements on behalf of the county.
- Represent the county in general district court, circuit court, the Virginia Court of Appeals, and the Virginia Supreme Court as necessary.
