What are the responsibilities and job description for the FIT Specialist position at Highland Cycle Sales, Inc.?
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Create long-term relationships with customers and have fun talking about motorcycles.
- Attain new and used sales goals as agreed upon with the sales manager.
- Present the features and benefits of motorcycle products to customers, showing the advantages over competing brands.
- Follow business transaction processes timely and accurately.
- Introduce new customers to the other departments and their personnel.
Customer Service
- Greet customers immediately, in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Cultivate prospects (e.g., showroom customer follow-up, phone-in inquiries, past owners, etc.).
- Handle telephone transactions quickly, and courteously.
- Use a common and consistent sales process for vehicle sales, trade-ins and purchases.
- Contact customers using personal follow-up to encourage additional sales and ensure customer satisfaction, ask for referrals.
- Handle customer complaints reasonably, showing empathy and a positive attitude, and demonstrate our commitment to “Make Things Right”.
- Attend training sessions to keep current with sales techniques and sales department issues.

- Remain current with all Sales department training available.
- Be prompt and available for flexible scheduling.

- Stay current on motorcycle trends and selling features.
Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Able to get along with a broad customer base, team members, and management.
- High energy level.
- Excellent communication skills and expectation management.
- Knowledge and experience with sales of Harley-Davidson and other products sold by the dealership, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn them.
- Excited to work in a commission-based sales environment.
- Able to operate a motorcycle (Motorcycle Endorsement is strongly preferred)
Physical Demands
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to keep balance and push large motorcycles.
- Requires the use of both hands.
- Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, handle tools, and lift 75 lb. of material.
- Heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move motorcycles and other objects.
