Career Coach - Workforce Development

This position is part of a grant-funded workforce development initiative by New York State aimed at supporting Nursing Assistants, Nursing Technicians, and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and respiratory technicians to advance their careers by enrolling in and completing LPN or RN, or RT (respiratory therapy) school. The goal of this position is to provide comprehensive career coaching, guidance, and support to participants, helping them successfully navigate school and work subsequently transitioning successfully into higher-level nursing roles within the healthcare sector.

PAY RANGE: $64,000 - $85,000

• The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Career Development, Human Resources, Social Work, or Education) or equivalent experience.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in career coaching, workforce development, or a related role, preferably within the healthcare or education sectors. Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals from underserved communities.
• Skills: Strong understanding of career development principles, particularly in healthcare professions.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and motivate participants.

Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people, including healthcare professionals, students, and community organizations.
